DER KLASIKAR : BORUSSIA DORTMUND VS BAYERN MUNICH

Dortmund faces Bayern at home.....

After the global pandemic The German Bundesliga was the first soccer league to return in Europe. After playing two matches both teams met in a title decider match. Last time Dortmund played against Bayern away at The Allianz Arena and lost by 4-0. Before todays match Dortmund  was 4 points behind Bayern at the second spot.

Today on 26th of May Bayern played Borussia at their home. The match started at 5:30pm German time. Signal Iduna Park was empty due to the pandemic and there were no fans except some media reporters or officials. Bayern was at the top of the table with 61 points while Borussia was on second spot with 57 points. Probably this match was a title decider.

The clash started at the fixed time. Both sides were much determined to grab the win to increase their chances for the title. As both the teams won all 2 matches after the return. Borussia Dortmund had the advantage of home but they didn't had the support of their famous 'yellow wall' due to crisis. Dortmund was dominating the game were unable to convert their chances and they started playing defensively while on the other hand Bayern were also longing for a goal. First half was just to end when Bayern advanced towards the opposition penalty area where Joshua Kimmich in the 43rd minute scored a stunner by just chipping the ball beating Burki in the the top corner. 

After a beautiful goal from Kimmich Bayern were relieved and they pressed high on the hosts and controlled the game and now the pressure was on Dortmund. After few minutes since 2nd half started Dortmund was again in the game and trying to equalise desperately but luck was not on their side today. They dominated the game but lacked finishing. Bayern defended the game and didn't let them score. The end of second half was on the corner and Bayern were near to win Muller missed a chance in 88th minute. Finally the whistle blew and the leaders won their 13th of last 14 games. 

 

Now Bayern Munich is on the 1st spot with 7 points ahead of the Borussia 2Dortmund who are on the 2nd spot with 57 points after 28 games. Just 6 more matchdays are left to see the Champions of Bundesliga 2019-2020.
