Is SERIE A returning after Covid-19???
If ITALIAN top flight football league SERIE A is returning after COVID-19 lockdown then when it is going to resume and under what conditions it will be continued.
SERIE A was stopped back in March when COVID-19 spread rapidly across the country. Right after three months of suspension finally there are talks about the return of professional football when the other fields are getting started across the country. It is reported that about 33000 people have been killed due to pandemic.
After many turn arounds and many rumours around the corner of resumption or called of The Italian Government have planned a meeting with the officials of Italian Football Federation. The Italian sports minister said that we should stop this and wait for the new season but the Officials Italian Football Federation said if it remains the same The Lega will suffer financial crisis. They said since the lockdown SERIE A have lost €500 Million and if it gets cancelled then it would become more than €700 Million.
Federation says it is its responsibility to make Football running and generating revenue for the state and for its own survival. They said if Lega still remains under suspension then it would face an irreparable Financial damage. Further they suggested to get encourged from Germany as their BUNDESLIGA has returned and is continuing without any problems by taking all the precautionary measures. Today on Thursday it will be decided in a meeting between ITALIAN GOVERNMENT and ITALIAN FOOTBALL FEDERATION whether the league will return or not. Most of the people say there are alot chances that the league will return but by taking proper precautionary measures. There will be no mascots, no handshakes, no team photos, no combined rooms, players spread in two buses while travelling and proper distance on flights.
When it comes to SERIE A teams some of the teams are in favour of the return while some are opposing the return. Brescia and Torino are against the idea of return. Both teams are on 20th and 15th rank respectively on the league table. And both these regions of the country have witnessed most of the deaths about 60% of the total numbers due to COVID-19. While Lazio is the team which so keen for the return as they are on their 21 match unbeaten run and when the lockdown took place it was just 1 point behind the leaders Juventus. If the Lega Serie A starts then it is expected to return on the week of 13th and 14th June by completing the 4 postponed fixtures before the lockdown. The proper return will start on 20th June. If todays meeting gives green light then Serie A will be examined on Friday whether it is ready to return. The reason why the League is more often to return is to determine the Winners, relegations, and European Qualifications. It is also said that there will be 2 or 3 fixture each team each week in order to finish the league before August.
